2025-10-10On 1 January 2026, the updated List of Prohibited Substances and Methods will enter into force. We would like to draw your attention to the most important changes:
- Prohibition of anabolic steroid esters
It has been clarified that not only anabolic steroids are prohibited, but also their esters (S1.1). - Inclusion of carbon monoxide (CO) in prohibited methods
The non-diagnostic use of carbon monoxide is now banned as it can increase erythropoiesis under certain conditions. The use of CO for diagnostic purposes is allowed. - Adjustment for long-acting glucocorticoids
It has been explained that the use of long-release glucocorticoid preparations can result in detectable levels beyond the official washout period due to long-term systemic absorption. - Adding fladrafinil and flmodafinil to the list of banned stimulants
These substances are included in group S6 as potent analogues of modafinil and adrafinil, marketed as supplements. - Adding new substances to the Prohibited List
Pegmolesatide (EPO mimetic), ɑ-naphthoflavone (aromatase inhibitor) and BAM15 (AMPK activator) have been added as new examples of banned substances.
