2025-12-05The Lithuanian Anti-Doping Agency continues to share its experience with colleagues from foreign countries. On 26-27 January 2026 in Tashkent ( Uzbekistan), the Head of the Lithuanian Anti-Doping Agency, Rūta Banytė, participated in the international forum "Strengthening Global Anti-Doping Governance: harmonization, compliance and regional cooperation", aimed at strengthening the relationship between Anti-Doping Authorities in the Central Asian region.
The event focused on the challenges of anti-doping policy, the importance of inter-institutional cooperation and the exchange of best practices between representatives of different countries. Among the guests invited to share their experience, Lithuanian representatives were also invited: at the conference, R. Banytė presented Lithuanian experience and good practice in cooperation with public institutions, emphasising that an effective anti-doping system is inseparable from close and consistent inter-institutional work.
"In my opinion, close cooperation with the institutions in the country is essential, as it allows us to continuously improve, share knowledge and work together. This is important not only for the protection of athletes, but also for the wider goals of public health and well-being," said Ms Banytė.
Joint initiatives with education, health, sport and other institutions can create a more sustainable anti-doping environment, strengthen prevention and ensure a consistent value-based approach to clean sport.
The International Conference has become an important platform for strengthening international relations, promoting dialogue and cooperation between anti-doping organisations in Europe and Central Asia.
