Positive doping test result?
2025-10-20Under national anti-doping rules, sports federations are required to include certain provisions related to anti-doping policy in their regulations. In addition, federations' websites must contain links to the Lithuanian Anti-Doping Agency's website or other anti-doping-related information.
"I am pleased that the websites of the vast majority of Lithuanian sports federations have the information mentioned above and that their documents contain anti-doping policies. Athletes, their parents, coaches, representatives of sports clubs, when looking for various information, often first visit the website of the federation. Therefore, the provision of anti-doping information here is a very important part of education, albeit a small one. I hope that in the near future such information will also be available on the websites of the few Lithuanian sports federations that have not yet published it", says Erika Petrutytė, lawyer at the Lithuanian Anti-Doping Agency.
According to her, this information has been mandatory on sports federations' websites since the beginning of this year.
"However, we started talking about this with our sports organisations well before 2021. Our dialogue was not in vain. As I said, the publication of various anti-doping-related information by most federations started well before it became mandatory."
